I know exactly what happened. I am a scatter ...LOL! I know exactly what happened. I am a scatter brain and wasn't paying attention. The recipe was for four dozen and I didn't want that many so I thought I would half it. Apparently my math was way off and I think by the end I forgot I was halfing it and used the full amount of butter. It was like toffee! The pan was old (thank god for registries!) but I was actually able to clean it up - and the other pan - after a night of soaking.
